What are Indonesia’s most well-known universities? Topuniversitieslist has published the 2021 Indonesian University Ranking, which includes 577 Indonesian higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:

being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Indonesian higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

Indonesia is split into 34 provinces (Indonesian: provinsi), which are subdivided further into regencies and towns (Indonesian: kabupaten and kota). The overwhelming majority of higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion are based in Jakarta’s Special Capital Region as well as East Java, West Java, and Central Java’s most populous provinces. Both provinces with at least two Indonesian higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
