being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Venezuelan higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2022 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is split into 23 states (Spanish: estados), one capital district (Spanish: distrito capital), and various offshore dependencies (Spanish: dependencias federales de ultramar). The state of Caracas, which contains the largest and capital city of Caracas, has the greatest number of higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. All states with at least two Venezuelan higher education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
