2022 Ranking of Austria Universities

What are Austria’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist has published the 2022 Austrian University Ranking, which includes 73 Austrian higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:

  • being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Austrian higher education-related body, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2022 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

Austria’s Republic is split into nine states (German: Länder). The national capital and state of Vienna, which is located in the north-east of the country and is the most heavily populated state and region in Austria, as well as the smallest by area, has the greatest number of higher education institutions that meet the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. Both states with at least two Austrian higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
