2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories
The Dominican Republic is split into 31 provinces (provincias in Spanish), which are further divided into municipalities (Spanish: municipios). The Distrito Nacional, situated in the south of the country and home to the country’s capital and largest district, Santo Domingo, has the highest concentration of higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion.
