2022 Ranking of Iceland Universities

What are Iceland’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist attempts to address this issue by releasing the 2022 Icelandic University Ranking, which includes seven Icelandic higher education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist quality criteria:

  • being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Icelandic higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

7 Universities in Iceland are included in the Topuniversitieslist League Table and University Ranking.

2022 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

The Republic of Iceland is split into eight regions (svum in Icelandic). The Capital and Western areas have the most higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. Both regions with at least two Icelandic higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist placement criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist league tables or sub-rankings.

Capital Region (3)
Western Region (14)
