What are Israel’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist attempts to address this issue by releasing the Israeli University Ranking for 2021, which includes 33 Israeli higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:
being chartered, registered, or certified by an Israeli higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees), with courses delivered mostly in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories
Israel is divided into six districts (Hebrew: mehozot), each of which is further subdivided into sub-districts (Hebrew: nafot). The districts of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem have the highest concentration of higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist quality criterion. Both districts of at least two Israeli higher education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist allocation criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
