2022 Ranking of New Zealand Universities

What are New Zealand’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist attempts to address this issue by releasing the 2022 New Zealand University Ranking, which includes eight New Zealand higher education institutions that satisfy the Topuniversitieslist quality criteria:

  • offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) delivered primarily in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education format and being chartered, authorised, or approved by the relevant New Zealand higher education-related entity

2022 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

There are 16 regions of New Zealand (Maori: Nga takiwa). The northern island area of Auckland, which is home to New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, and the southern island region of Canterbury, which is home to New Zealand’s second-largest city, Christchurch, provide the most higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. Both areas with at least two New Zealand higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist allocation criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
