2022 Ranking of Sri Lanka Universities

What are Sri Lanka’s most well-known universities? Topuniversitieslist attempts to address this query by releasing the Sri Lankan University Ranking for 2022, which includes 16 Sri Lankan higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:

  • being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Sri Lankan higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2022 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is divided into nine provinces (ward in Sinhala, makanam in Tamil).These are further divided into districts (Sinhala: distrikka; Tamil: mavattam).The Western region, which includes Sri Lanka’s economic and legislative capital and largest city, Colombo, has the highest number of higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria. Both provinces with at least two Sri Lankan higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist placement criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
