2021 Ranking of Sri Lanka Universities

What are Sri Lanka’s most well-known universities? Topuniversitieslist attempts to address this query by releasing the Sri Lankan University Ranking for 2021, which includes 16 Sri Lankan higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:

  • being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Sri Lankan higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

Sri Lanka’s Democratic Socialist Republic is divided into nine provinces (palata in Sinhala, makanam in Tamil), which are further subdivided into districts (Sinhala: distrikka; Tamil: mavattam). The Western district, which includes Colombo, Sri Lanka’s economic and legislative capital and largest city, has the most higher education institutions that match the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. Both provinces with at least two Sri Lankan higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist placement criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist sub-rankings or league tables.
