What are Algeria’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist has published the 2021 Algerian University Ranking, which includes 91 Algerian higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist quality criteria:

offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) delivered primarily in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education format and being chartered, certified, or approved by the relevant Algerian higher education-related institution

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories

Algeria’s People’s Democratic Republic is split into 58 provinces (Arabic: wilayah), each of which has over 1,500 municipalities (Arabic: baladiyah). The Algiers Province, which is located in the north of the country and hosts Algeria’s capital Algiers, has the most higher education institutions that match the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion. It is Algeria’s most heavily populated province, as well as its smallest by size. Both provinces with at least two Algerian higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist league tables or sub-rankings.
