2021 Ranking of Italy Universities
What are Italy’s most famous universities? Topuniversitieslist has published the 2021 Italian University Ranking, which includes 86 Italian higher-education institutions that fulfill the Topuniversitieslist selection criteria:
- being chartered, registered, or certified by the relevant Italian higher education-related institution, and providing at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) in a conventional, face-to-face, non-distance education style.

2021 Sub-rankings by provinces and territories
The Italian Republic is divided into 20 regions (Italian: regioni), which are subdivided further into provinces (Italian: province) and municipalities (Italian: municipalities) (Italian: comuni). The Lombardia Region (Milan) and the Lazio Region have the most higher education institutions that follow the Topuniversitieslist selection criterion (Rome). Both regions with at least two Italian higher education institutions matching the Topuniversitieslist placement criterion are included in the following Topuniversitieslist league tables or sub-rankings.
